Norges Seilforbund søker nå etter en trener for damene som seiler iQFOiL på landslaget. Horisonten for engasjementet er i første omgang OL i 2024. (For english reading, scroll down)

– Målet vårt er å samle dameseilerne i iQFOiL til én gruppe slik at de kan dra nytte av hverandres styrker og erfaringer og på den måten kunne bygge et lag i iQFOiL som skal kunne hevde seg helt i verdenstoppen, sier sportssjef Eirik Verås Larsen.

I utlysningen som NSF nå har sendt ut, sies det at den nye treneren vil få ansvaret for NSFs damelandslag i iQFOiL, og at vedkommende også vil få en viktig rolle i å bygge opp det unge iQFOiL-miljøet på nivået under landslaget. Treneren vil bli målt på resultater, men også på antall seilere både på topp og nivået under som vedkommende klarer å utvikle. 

– Vi ønsker å innarbeide og bygge den norske treningskulturen i denne gruppen. Vår filosofi er at vi skal være best forberedt av alle, og at vi skal legge ned mye trening for å kunne være det, og med dette laget ønsker vi å vise hvor listen skal ligge. PÅ VEI OPP: Mina Mobekk ble siste uke tredje best i U21-klassen under en stor, internasjonal regatta på Lanzarote. Eirik forteller at de på landslagsnivået jobber mye med systematikk og digitale treningsdagbøker som skal bidra til hver enkelt seilers fremgang. Han fremhever også at det å skape et lag som samarbeider – både innad i iQFOiL-gruppen, men også på tvers av alle OL-klassene, er en viktig del av treningsfilosofien.

– Vi har tro på det å dele informasjon og erfaring – både mellom seilerne og trenerne, for det er ved å jobbe sammen at vi kan bli sterkere og bedre, sier Eirik.

Landslagstreneren som det nå søkes etter, må ha god erfaring med eliteseiling. Vedkommende må også ha et stort engasjement, stor entusiasme for seiling, være målrettet og ha en stor glede av det å være trener, og at denne holdningen kan overføres til seilerne og hele det norske seilmiljøet.

– Jeg er veldig spent på responsen vi vil få og hvilke trenere som er ledige og vil søke, sier sportssjefen, som også kan fortelle at midlene som gjør det mulig å engasjere den nye treneren kommer fra Norges Idrettsforbunds prosjekt Summit 24, der ti idretter – alle med potensiale til å kunne ta medaljer i OL, men som sjelden får medieoppmerksomhet, er gått sammen om å samle inn penger til sin satsing.

Søknadsfristen er satt til 12. februar, og oppstart for engasjementet er i utgangspunktet 1. juni. Søknader sendes til sportssjef Eirik Verås Larsen.

IQFOIL Coach, Norwegian Sailing Federation

The Norwegian Sailing Federation works with elite sport with ambition and focus on achievements.

We invite applications with high level coaching experience for a position as our National Team IQFOIL women’s coach. Norwegian Sailing Federation (NSF) has a long-term focus on the Olympic Games, and it’s our goal to work and develop together with our new National Team IQFOIL women’s coach until 2028. 

The IQFOIL national women’s coach will be in charge of our women’s team but will also have an important role in the development of all young IQFOIL sailors in Norway.  The work includes goal setting, planning of training load and activities related to training and competition, both on national and international level.

He or she will be measured on results as well as number of sailors on elite and development level. 

Our training philosophy

We want to be best prepared. To achieve that we believe in a high training volume. We also believe training diary is a useful tool in order to maximize each athlete’s progress. A good team spirit is crucial, both within the IQFOIL team and the big National Team with all the other classes. We believe in sharing information, experience and advice between our athletes, different teams and between all the Norwegian coaches. Together we are stronger!

Who are we seeking?

You must be engaged in the sport of sailing from A to Z, and have a strong wish to develop a true performance culture. You must be able to create passion and interest for the national team. You are flexible and thrive in a busy environment. The ability to ensure good communication, not only with athletes, but also with your sport director (SD), sailing clubs and our National Olympic Association, is important. The position requires clarity, determination, and the ability to listen and motivate. You must be able to organize and execute the logistics for the different training camps and competitions.

The tasks:

•        Coaching and leading the national IQFOIL womens team.
•        Responsible for training models and training programs.
•        Follow up training thru electronic training diary to ensure optimal development of the athletes.
•        Together with SD develop selection criteria for teams and competitions. 
•        In some projects cooperate with NSF’s department for broad competitive sport.
•        Budget follow-up and reporting to SD

Qualifications:

•        Experience with elite sailing.
•        Coach education or other higher education is preferred.
•        Experience from coaching at the highest level is preferred.
•        English speaking with high communication skills, also in writing. 
•        Familiar with use of computer and planning tools.

Personal characteristics:

•        Energetic, goal oriented and motivating.
•        Hard working
•        High cooperation skills.
•        Systematic and analytical.

About NSF:

The Norwegian Sailing Federation is a national organization with 120 sailing clubs under it’s umbrella. The total number of members is approximately 23.500. The administration has personnel of 10 and is located in Oslo. NSF is a part of NIF, the Norwegian Sports Organization, and cooperates closely with NIF, as well as other sports federations and the National Olympic Organization.

NSF has a solid development of membership, good interaction with clubs and a sound economy.

Location:

NSF’s offices are located in Ullevaal Stadium, Oslo, in close proximity of the Norwegian Sports Organization and a majority of it’s other sports federations. Our IQFOIL womens coach must expect to work approx. 180 days around the world each year.
